Lose the Baby Weight with These Tips
Almost all women put on a few pounds in pregnancy that can be super tricky to shift once the baby has arrived. In between nursing, changing diapers, cleaning the house, piles of laundry, and trying to maintain some semblance of a life, it is no wonder that there is precious little time for working out.
But, it doesn’t have to be like this! There are plenty of ways in which you can get some exercise in and get some time for yourself occasionally.
1. Set some goals
Think about what you would like to achieve and work back from there. If your goal is to shift 5 pounds, then setting a goal of losing one pound a week is a great motivator for sticking to a new routine.
2. Create a plan
You might not know what’s going to happen form one day to the next, but you can at least draw up a lose plan of how you how to achieve your goal. Whether by adding in more walking to your week, taking time out to go for a swim, doing a Pilates video while the baby is sleeping – whichever exercise you choose, try to set aside the same time every week to do it.
3. Get a buddy
Other new moms can be a great source of motivation for getting out and about. Connect with them through baby classes or local organizations and arrange a weekly meet up where you can all get some exercise.
4. Kit yourself out
Ever noticed how you have much more motivation at the gym if you’re wearing a new pair of trainers or a fancy pair of leggings? Kit yourself out with some awesome new threads to get yourself motivated and ready to go!
This one is pretty easy. Put your baby in the stroller, get your running shoes on, and go for a jog! Your child will love it just as much as you!
